FIT FOURTY

Squamish Chief, a quick ‘Camera Scanning’ proof of a 4x5 negative shot last summer.

Oh boy.

This is going to be short and sweet, so that I feel like I’m being productive again. That’s the goal we’re after as artists/makers right? Just to do stuff?

The challenge is balancing time/cost intensive things like going to the darkroom with working in film. I’m hoping both that I have a couple days off next week so I can go to the darkroom, but also I need to pay some bills after the xmas break/hiatus.

I’m hesitant to try and offer prints on presale, as I’m undoubtably going to have some, re-growth (?) pains returning to an enlarger after ten years off. I feel confident, if there was one thing I loved doing in school, it was making prints. When I was in school I didn’t have as great negatives all the time either. But I’m hoping after this first run I can start to have some stock of prints for sale.

The other challenge for me is coming to a reasonable price that’s fair to me, but affordable for regular humans. I’m not sure where to land on that one yet.
